In everything and everyone, there is something to consider and observe. Most of my work, predominantly Acrylic on canvas, represents a fragment of my space in this life.
I shift between figurative and abstract interpretations, and a combination of these, sometimes pairing physical, recognizable figure(s) in communication with forms.
Concepts, moments, wishes, experiences, requests, dreams, share in an intuitive process.
I have chosen to speak in the language of color and abstract constructs, respectfully inviting you into this world that you may choose to look at or walk away from.
In observing nature, I find snails to be representative of diversity and complexity in nature. There is more to this description that can be studied, yet we tend to overlook the larger implications of small things. My projects become colorful creations, fragments that are linked one to another, part of a larger reality.
Having lived in both the United States and in Mexico, I balance the differences and their significance in my daily life and in my work. I began formal studies in Mexico City in the suburb of Coyoacan at La Escuela Superior de Arte, a source of encouragement and learning under the instruction of Adrian Navarro, and continued my career in Miami, graduating with a BFA from Florida International University. I have participated in several group shows in the US and have had the opportunity to have two 'solo' exhibitions in Mexico in 2005 and 2006. I live and work in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
